Kinfolk + The Lost Art of Drying Herbs

I have a confession to make. I love herbs. In fact, I think they are one of my love languages. Lovely friends of mine who know this to be true recently led me to my birthday celebration this year with a sweetly bundled bunch of fresh herbs. Aromatic, intoxicating and rich with possibilities, herbs have the power to bring my senses alive to the bounty of nature.

I was utterly taken by a recent post by photographer Parker Fitzgerald for Kinfolk on Herb Drying and had to share it with you today. Since feasting my eyes and my imagination on these gorgeous photos, I’ve been dreaming about where I might create a herb drying shed of my own. Time to purge the garage, perhaps! In the meantime, I hope Parker’s stunning photography and Amy Merrick‘s beautifully organic styling inspire you as much as they have me!

Roost Blog | Ode to the Peach

Image via Roost

Peaches are a matter of some debate in our household. I adore peaches that have been ripened until the last possible second on the vine, so luscious they bathe my chin in their golden juices as I bite into their sweet flesh. My darling husband, on the other hand, has a strange penchant for peaches that are crisp and firm and “crunch” with what can only be described as a “chomp.” I think he was dropped on his head as a baby.

Either way you slice it, the fragrant beauty of peaches is simply intoxicating when they are in season. From peach cobbler to fresh slices over vanilla ice cream, they are the stuff childhood summer desserts were made of. As if you needed any excuse to fall deeper in love, just feast your senses on this delicious video from Caitlin at Roost.

Kinfolk Dinner | Philadephia

If you have not yet had the pleasure of stumbling upon Kinfolk then it is my delight to introduce you today. No doubt your relationship with them will be like mine – one filled with a sense of being understood and inspired all at once.

Kinfolk is simply {and beautifully} a growing community of artists who believe in natural, collaborative gatherings. These kinds of gatherings are truly a love language of mine, so I felt like I had found “my people” when I discovered this community and what they are all about.

Here is a beautiful video of just one such gathering they created in Philadelphia at the organically inspired garden purveyor Terrain.

Tomorrow I will share with you a recent gathering I had the joy of attending which embraced pretty much all of my love languages {including this one}.
